Adventuring does not end when you have children, it is only the beginning.
All Families Can Go Outside and Adventure Together. Whether you have lots of money, or very little money, enjoying time exploring as a family is possible.
Taking Time to Explore Together Builds Positive Family Relationships. Taking time to explore together outside improves overall family health and personal physical and mental health.
Born to be Adventurous shares practical resources to help your family start adventuring together. We also share our experiences and connect you with other families through the Born to be Adventurous Mamas platform because we know that sometimes bringing kids along on an adventure does have its challenges.
Hey… I am a mom of two after all and have totally enjoyed a 45 minute hike with multiple blow outs and breastfeeding sessions. That 45 minute hike ended up taking over three hours!

Born to be Adventurous Vision
My vision… well it is pretty big and I hope to get there someday.
I dream of a world where kids are easily seen as part of life’s adventures and this is not something that people question.
My vision is to create a platform that provides all families with the useful information they need to hit the trails, travel, and adventure together anywhere in the world.
That way, you have all the information you need easily accessible and all you have to worry about is your kids in the present moment when adventuring.
The Beginning of the Born to be Adventurous Platform
Adventuring does not end when you have children, it is only the beginning.
That belief was what drove me to start Born to be Adventurous.
When I was pregnant with my first daughter, I never thought that we would stop camping, hiking, or travelling as a family.
I chose not to listen to anyone that said that I would not be able to travel or camp with my baby.
When our first was born, we took her camping at six weeks old, backpacked Europe, lived in Copenhagen, and even took her on a backcountry camping trip all before the age of one years old!
But, before the platform Born to be Adventurous was born, I wrote on a different blog called the ACE Family Adventures. I wanted our family and friends to be able to follow our travel and camping adventures we were having with our new baby!
I started to have family, friends, and then friends of friends ask me for advice on how to start adventuring with their kids.
In 2015, the Born to be Adventurous was born almost one year after our second daughter was born.
Born to be Adventurous Mamas Facebook Groups
The Born to be Adventurous Mamas groups were created to bring together moms that are looking to get outside and explore with their kids. The groups have grown considerably.
Now, there are six different Born to be Adventurous Mamas groups!

I wrote a book and I am working on another one!
The first book was called “Hikes for Families: A Guide to the Canadian Rockies” and it was published in June 2020.

I am working on a new project called TrailCollectiv. This is a passion project that will help my vision come into fruition if I can pull it off.
