I’m tired. My 2 kids aged 2 and 4 were up all night but I forced myself to pack them up and try out this new climbing gym that some mom friends were talking about. The Bolder Climbing Gym is something else. Memories of my time in Vancouver and the hipster life fills my mind. The view from the entrance is this incredibly rad coffee bar. Have I made it to the right place?
I take off my shoes and my friends Karen and Meaghan arrive. They each have 2 kids around the same age as mine. We are bringing a total of 6 kids age 4 and under to this climbing coffee shop. I walk down the hallway shuffling my kids to the font desk coffee bar and the area opens up into an incredibly large bolder facility.
I greet the front desk staff. “The drop in fee for parents and tots is $10 .” Next he passes me a coffee. Apparently it is included in the $10 parent and tot fee. I finish filling out the wavers and he continues, “A couple of rules. Make sure the kids don’t go underneath anyone that is climbing. There is also a little sectioned off area with toys for the littles.” My mouth drops. This place is awesome and I have officially hit the mama jack pot.
Tuesday Morning Bolder Climbing Parent and Tot
Every Tuesday morning before 1 pm, Bolder Climbing offers a Parent and Tot climbing session. For $10, parents can come climb with their children AND get a free delicious coffee. Coffee that is local and roasted by the climbing gym! Can it get anymore local? The best part is they have a small play area with toys for kids and the staff is really understanding of children. In fact they make you feel like you are supposed to be bringing your kids climbing. It was the perfect place for our first BTBA Alberta Mamas Party. Read more about the event here.
