I am so excited to announce that Get Outside and Play Week is happening for a second year in a row from May 26th -June 3rd.   Why do I love Get Outside and Play Week? Because it celebrates play based learning outside and  all the events are free!! You can even create your own public OR private event to participate.

Get Outside and Play week is a province wide celebration of active, outdoor nature play in the early years. Early childhood educators, families and communities are encouraged to take this week to focus on and celebrate outdoor play. Share your activities at   getoutsideandplay.ca  and be eligible to win great  prizes. Be part of the wider movement and get outside and play with your little ones!

 

How to get involved?

Get involed and celebrate outdoor play in the early years! Join an existing event OR host a public or private event in your childcare centre, school or community. Then share the details to   be entered to win a gift certificate from Mountain Equipment Co-op.

Get Outside and Play Outside Launch Event

Celebrate the start of Get Outside and Play week  at Pearce Estate Park in Calgary on May 26th. There will be live music from Rattle and Strum from 12:00-12:45 pm. Children will have lots of opportunity for outdoor play including creating an art piece, searching for insects and trying some adventure running! The event is free and runs from 12:00-3:30 pm.  just make sure you come ready to play.
